Experts made a terrifying statement: humanity is threatened with extinction - THE REASON

Declining birth rates worldwide could lead to the gradual and irreversible disappearance of lineages, languages, and cultures.
This is stated in a study by Japanese scientists from Shizuoka University, published in the journal PLOS One.
Through mathematical modeling, researchers found that for population sustainability, an average of at least 2.7 children per woman is necessary. The model took into account random fluctuations in birth rates, mortality, and gender balance.
Although the total number of people on the planet is still growing, the regional picture is concerning: two-thirds of the Earth's population live in countries with birth rates below the critical mark of 2.1. In Japan, it is 1.3, in South Korea - a record low of 0.87, and in the USA - 1.66. Moreover, the actual rates of decline may turn out to be much sharper than forecasts: for example, Japan's population, according to calculations, could decrease by a third in just one generation.
Interestingly, under stressful conditions, nature "activates a protective mechanism": there is a slight increase in the number of girls at birth, which increases the chances of population survival. This phenomenon has been observed in both humans and animals.
The authors emphasize: sustainability is not only a question of numbers but also the preservation of humanity's cultural and genetic heritage.
