As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Izvestia, the specialist noted that a thin coating on the tongue in the morning is normal. A cause for concern is a dense, curd-like coating accompanied by a burning sensation.

According to her, when trying to remove such coating, it is partially removed, and an inflamed surface remains underneath. The doctor emphasized that one should not traumatize the tongue by cleaning it "to blood" - it is necessary to consult a specialist.

In addition, ulcers most often occur after injuries - biting, contact with a sharp edge of a filling or a hard brush - and usually heal within 7-10 days. If the ulcer does not heal for more than two weeks, becomes dense, painless, or acquires irregular edges, this should be alarming. Especially for smokers and people who abuse alcohol, as such changes may indicate precancerous processes, Kardakova warned.
