An oncologist explained whether it is possible to defeat cancer

Humanity is unlikely to completely defeat cancer in the foreseeable future, but has every chance of significantly reducing mortality rates thanks to the development of personalized vaccines. This view was expressed by oncologist Anton Saad.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to RIA Novosti, the specialist noted that there is no prospect of completely eradicating oncological diseases in the coming years. According to him, cancer is not a single disease but a broad group of diseases with different genetic origins, making universal treatment an extremely challenging task.

According to the expert, even with the rapid development of medical technologies and the emergence of innovative vaccines, achieving an absolute victory over cancer is unlikely. At the same time, as foreign specialists emphasize, modern medicine is already moving toward turning many types of cancer into chronic, manageable conditions.

Saad also highlighted the progress in the development of personalized mRNA vaccines. According to him, the accumulated data indicates their effectiveness, and in the future such treatments could become part of standard therapy — alongside surgical intervention and immunotherapy.
