The head coach of "Barcelona" is going to leave his post

Barcelona's head coach Hans-Dieter Flick plans to leave his post at the end of the current season.

The German coach has notified the members of the coaching staff about his decision, which is due to professional burnout and dissatisfaction with the internal atmosphere at the club.

Flick took charge of the Catalan team in 2025, replacing Xavi Hernandez. The coach's contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2026. Under his leadership, the team has played 74 matches: 54 wins, 8 draws, and 12 defeats.

In the past season, Barcelona won three trophies out of four possible - the championship, the cup, and the Spanish Super Cup. Hans-Dieter Flick's team was eliminated from the Champions League at the semi-final stage, losing to Italian Inter: both matches ended with a score of 3:3, however, in extra time, the Italian team proved stronger.

Barcelona occupies 2nd place in the La Liga standings, having earned 25 points. In the Champions League, the team is in 11th position - 6 points in 3 matches.
