The Azerbaijan youth judo team took first place at the European Championship
Azerbaijan's youth team completed the European Judo Championship held in Bratislava (Slovakia) with three medals.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, on the first day of the competition, Nihad Mamishov (60 kg) and Magomed Musaev (66 kg) won gold. Nizami Imranov (66 kg) finished the tournament with a bronze medal.
N.Mamishov, who had previously become a two-time youth world champion, won a European Championship gold medal for the first time in his career. M.Musaev made history as Azerbaijan's first European champion in the 66 kg weight category among youth. Another significant achievement was that N.Imranov became a continental championship medalist for the third consecutive year.
It should be noted that Farid Garaev (60 kg) finished the competition in 5th place, and Abil Yusubov in 7th place.
The Azerbaijan team, with two gold medals and one bronze medal, took first place among 43 countries.
