The winner of the second stage of the "Baku - Khankendi" cycling race has been determined.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, Kazakh rider Yevgeny Fyodorov, representing the "Astana" team, was the first to cross the finish line.

The athlete completed the distance in 4 hours 41 minutes 38 seconds.

Swiss rider Alexandre Balmer took second place, while Uruguayan Erik Antonio Fagundes won the bronze.

During the second stage, the cyclists started from Sea Breeze and finished in Ismayilli, covering a distance of 193.3 km.

Today the second stage of the Azerbaijani cycling race "Baku - Khankendi" will take place.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the second stage will cover a distance of 193.2 kilometers.

Today's route starts in Baku, passes through Shamakhi, and finishes in Ismayilli.

As a reminder, the day before, Belarusian cyclist Alexei Shnirko, representing the Chinese team Li-Ning Star, became the winner of the first stage.

The goal of the competition is to promote the development of cycling in the country, to demonstrate Azerbaijan's successful hosting of international sports events, and to draw attention to the territories liberated from occupation.

24 teams representing 20 countries are participating in the race, which holds category 2.1 of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

The prize fund of the five-stage competition exceeds 50,000 euros. The race will conclude on May 14.

The final stage of the tournament will take place in the city of Khankendi.
