Azerbaijani wrestler won a gold medal at the European Championship
Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvilishvili won a gold medal at the European Championship taking place in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
As Report informs, in the final match in the weight category up to 125 kg, our athlete defeated Georgian representative Solomon Manashvili.
This is the first gold medal for the Azerbaijan team at the current championship.
Note that earlier Azerbaijani wrestlers Islam Bazarganov (57 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg) and Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won bronze medals, while Osman Nurmuhammedov (92 kg) won silver.
