Woman punished for slandering an acquaintance on TikTok.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, the incident occurred in Sumgayit.
Khayala Gambarova, a native of the Gadabay district living in the aforementioned city, purchased a new phone after her old one broke down. Since the contacts in the phone were lost, she sent messages via WhatsApp to unnamed numbers, trying to restore her contact list. At this moment, she received a message from an unknown number asking about the reason for sending such a request. Khayala explained the situation and reported that all numbers stored in the phone book had been deleted. However, the person she was messaging did not believe Khayala and insulted her. During the investigation, Khayala found out that the woman writing to her was Ramziya Rustamova, the former wife of her classmate. Despite Khayala's attempts to explain herself, Ramziya claimed that Gambarova had written intentionally.
The conflict did not end there. R.Rustamova began spreading defamatory information about Khayala Gambarova on her TikTok profile, published her phone number, and accompanied the publications with offensive captions: "Khayala in search of a husband," "Khayala, hunting for married men." As a result, Khayala Gambarova began receiving calls from various numbers with indecent proposals.
Finding herself in a desperate situation, Kh.Gambarova went to court with a private accusation. During the trial, the fact of slander by R.Rustamova against Kh. Gambarova was proven. By court decision, R.Rustamova was fined 2,500 manats.
