Will the earthquake in Istanbul affect seismic activity in Azerbaijan?

The earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 that occurred in Istanbul will not affect the activation of underground tremors in Azerbaijan.
As BAKU.WS reports, this was stated to Oxu.Az by the Director General of the Republican Center of Seismological Service under the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Gurban Yetirmishli.
"There is no connection between Turkey and Azerbaijan, neither in terms of distance nor in terms of seismotectonic structure, therefore the underground tremors that occurred there cannot have any impact on our country," he noted.
G.Yetirmishli emphasized that although there was a spread of waves after the earthquake, currently there is no accumulation of any tension in the disaster centers in the regions of Azerbaijan:
"Therefore, although minor tremors are being registered, the overall background is calm. The population need not worry."
Recall that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred in Istanbul. It was followed by underground tremors with magnitudes of 4.4 and 4.9.
