According to the "Requirements for technical indicators, interior and exterior design of vehicles used for regular and taxi passenger transportation" approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on March 28, 2024, taxis used by legal entities or individual entrepreneurs for passenger transportation must have a POS terminal installed for cashless payments.

This resolution came into force on July 1, 2024.

However, Oxu.Az has been receiving complaints from citizens that POS terminals are absent in most vehicles.

The question arises whether the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) is monitoring this issue and if there is an action plan?

AYNA spokesperson Tural Orujev noted that taxis must have video cameras installed that cover the entire cabin and are equipped with a storage device capable of storing recorded information for at least one month.

"At the same time, taxis used by legal entities or individual entrepreneurs for passenger transportation must have a POS terminal for cashless payments. This is stated in the requirements for technical indicators of vehicles used for taxi passenger transportation, according to Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 183," Orujev emphasized.

The spokesperson added that AYNA is carrying out relevant work in this direction. At the same time, the requirements for the interior design of vehicles are being implemented in stages.
