TV channel ARB received an official warning because of Elgiz's program

The Audiovisual Council of Azerbaijan held an online meeting on May 26, which discussed statements made in the program "Elgizlə izlə" on ARB TV channel from May 21, 2025.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Audiovisual Council. According to the information, during the discussion of the topic of relationships between men and women, family relationships, the host and guest of the program expressed the following opinions:

"A woman cannot be left unattended. Women themselves admit that if a woman is left unattended, the house will collapse. That's it...", "Generally they say that to know a woman, you need to give her money and freedom. Then you will get to know the woman very well...", "Give her freedom and give her money. And then will it be possible to gather this woman's arms and legs? You'll give money, and you'll give freedom...".

Specialists from the monitoring and analysis department of audiovisual programs of the Council's apparatus recorded these statements as a violation of Article 14.1.4 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media", that is, as propaganda of gender discrimination.

Later, in accordance with established procedures, this fact was confirmed by lawyers of the Audiovisual Council as a violation. Council members thoroughly discussed the issue and unanimously concluded that this dialogue should be interpreted as propaganda of gender discrimination.

As a result, members of the Audiovisual Council agreed to issue a warning to ARB channel and demanded that all broadcasters comply with legal requirements when conducting such discussions.
