Turkey extends an energy helping hand to Syria: new gas contracts on the horizon

Turkey will soon begin exporting natural gas to Syria in the amount of two billion cubic meters.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar. He also noted that Turkey plans to triple electricity exports to Syria. This decision is part of Ankara's strategy to expand its energy influence in the region and normalize relations with Damascus after a long period of tension. Energy cooperation could be an important step towards restoring economic ties between the countries, which were severely disrupted during the Syrian conflict that began in 2011.

Experts note that for Syria, which is suffering from an energy crisis and international sanctions, Turkish supplies of gas and electricity could play a key role in rebuilding infrastructure and stabilizing the economic situation.
