The State Security Service detained a terrorism suspect abroad

A court hearing was held at the Sabail District Court to choose a preventive measure in the form of arrest against Ruslan Najimov, who was detained in a criminal case being investigated by the State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to the SSS, the process was conducted based on the investigator's petition and the prosecutor's submission.

Ruslan Rafig oglu Najimov (born 1987), a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan suspected of committing terrorist crimes as part of a stable armed group, tried to hide in the territory of a foreign country under various names.

"As a result of comprehensive operational search measures conducted by the SSS, R.Najimov was detained abroad and on April 15, 2025, was brought to the country's territory to be involved in the investigation.

By court decision, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of four months was chosen against Ruslan Najimov," the information states.
