The State Road Police has addressed cyclists

The Main State Road Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has addressed bicycle riders.
According to information provided to BAKU.WS by the Department, the address states:
"It is gratifying to see the increase in bicycle use as a means of promoting a healthy lifestyle and as an environmentally friendly mode of transportation in our country. However, it should not be forgotten that cyclists are also equal participants in road traffic and are obligated to follow established rules.
Recent observations show that unpleasant incidents occur as a result of some cyclists violating traffic rules, which results in their injury and sometimes even loss of life.
We remind you that it is unacceptable to talk on the phone while riding a bicycle by taking your hands off the handlebars. When changing direction or turning at an intersection, sudden maneuvers should be avoided, and other traffic participants should be warned in advance with hand signals. In addition, it is essential to use only designated bicycle lanes where they exist, and in other cases, to stay on the right side of the road.
Remember that following traffic rules is the most reliable way to protect your life."
