The Center for Intelligent Transport Management under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan addressed drivers in connection with the beginning of the new academic year.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to CITM, during this period many parents who bring children to schools in private cars, as well as student drivers often violate traffic rules. This leads to artificial traffic jams on the streets and avenues of the capital, as well as on roads adjacent to educational institutions. Such situations create additional difficulties and delays for other road users, including public transport passengers.

The department notes that roads near educational institutions in Baku are monitored using video surveillance cameras. When traffic congestion occurs, road police officers will be promptly informed, and if necessary, the "green wave" mode will be activated at traffic lights.

CITM urges parents and students to leave their cars in underground and above-ground parking lots when possible, and to refrain from stopping and parking in prohibited areas.
