The Main Food Product Has Risen in Price in Azerbaijan - THE REASON

In Azerbaijan, over the past 20 days, there has been an increase in potato prices - the cost per kilogram in markets ranges from 1.20 to 2 manats.
According to Xəzər TV, sellers explain the price increase by the reduction in local potato volumes in the market and decreased imports. Currently, domestic products make up the main part of sales.
Economists cite two main reasons for the price increase: reduced supply of imported potatoes and a 25% increase in diesel fuel prices, which has increased transportation and production costs.
Note that in 2024, Azerbaijan produced about 1 million tons of potatoes.
