Tea, berries and apples: products that slow down aging named

Products rich in flavonoids, such as black tea, berries, and apples, can help maintain health in older age and slow down aging processes.
As reported by BAKU.WS, scientists from Australia, Ireland, and the USA came to this conclusion. The results of the large-scale study were published in the journal The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (AJCN).
Flavonoids are natural compounds found in vegetables, fruits, tea, and coffee. They have anti-inflammatory properties, protect blood vessels, and help maintain muscle mass. All these factors are especially important with age.
The study covered almost 90 thousand people aged over 24 years. In women with high flavonoid consumption, the risk of developing physical weakness decreased by 15%, and the likelihood of mental disorders and mobility impairments by 12%. In men, the flavonoid diet had a particularly positive effect on mental health - the risk of its disorders decreased by 15%.
According to Professor Aedin Cassidy from Queen's University (Ireland), it is enough to include just three additional servings of flavonoid products in the diet daily to significantly reduce the risks of age-related problems.
