Shocking details of a brutal murder in Baku: what a 12-year-old witness revealed

In the Baku Court for Serious Crimes, the investigation into the criminal case of Hikmet Akbarov, accused of the brutal murder of his wife and father-in-law in the Zykh settlement, has been completed.
As Oxu.az reports, at the session presided over by judge Kamil Aliyev, testimonies of persons recognized as witnesses in the criminal case were heard.
The testimony of a 12-year-old child attracted special attention. His account of what he saw regarding his mother's death horrified everyone.
"After my parents reconciled, my mother's attitude toward us changed. Every time she returned from grandmother's, she would scold us," the boy noted.
Since the testimony of the minor, who remained under his grandmother's guardianship after his mother's murder and his father's arrest, caused some surprise for both the prosecution and defense, he was asked detailed questions about the incident.
Regarding the moment of the incident, the minor told the following: "That night I fell asleep next to my younger brother. Suddenly waking up and leaving the room, I saw my mother lying on the floor, her face was covered in blood, she was wheezing. Dad was standing nearby, his right hand was bloody."
The minor witness's testimony was brought up for discussion, and it was evaluated whether he had been subjected to psychological pressure from his father's relatives. In the end, his words were taken into consideration.
Another witness, Khayala Akbarova, stated that she does not have any additional information.
"My brother's son told me how it all happened. Everything happened before his eyes. Therefore, I will never forgive my brother. Banovsha was a moral person," the woman said.
The accused H.Akbarov, having the opportunity to make an addition to his testimony during the process, blamed not only his mother-in-law Gulbeniz Badalova for what happened, but also his deceased father-in-law.
"This family says that I killed my wife and father-in-law to avenge my father. I will say that if I had such a thought, I would have done it 14 years ago. I loved my wife very much, I have four children. I deeply regret what happened. I told my wife's parents many times not to interfere in our affairs. It even got to the point where they tried to remove her hijab," the man says.
One of the contradictory points revealed during the judicial investigation is Hikmet's jealousy. The man suspected that his wife was cheating on him with one of her close relatives. However, this fact was not confirmed in the testimonies of witnesses. According to them, Hikmet was excessively jealous, and the murdered Banovsha had high moral qualities.
The next court hearing is scheduled for May 16.
Recall that the crime occurred on November 8, 2024, in the Zykh settlement of the Surakhani district. 36-year-old H.Akbarov is accused of first killing his father-in-law Ilgar Badalov with a knife while he was sleeping, and then his 27-year-old wife B.Akbarova.
Tensions between the families began in 2010 when 14-year-old Banovsha was abducted by Hikmet. When the man's father, while in the car of Banovsha's relatives, was heading for reconciliation, he died in a car accident. This incident was allegedly regarded by the parties as "revenge" for the abduction of the underage girl.
