MP named the number of houses without documents in Baku

More than 500 thousand houses without legal documents identified in Baku

As Report informs, at today's meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Regional Issues, deputy Arzukhan Alizade voiced alarming statistics about the number of undocumented housing in the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to the parliamentarian, the situation in the regions is even more critical. "It is impossible to insure houses without documents. For example, due to heavy rains in the autumn-winter period, many houses in the Sabunchi settlement were flooded. Residential areas were seriously damaged. We met with more than 30 victims in this area, but could not provide them with any assistance, as the flooded houses did not have the necessary documents," Alizade emphasized.

The deputy also drew attention to an aggravating factor - oil pollution. "The vast majority of these houses are built on channels through which groundwater flows from oil wells in the Balakhany settlement. It is necessary to clean these channels, as well as solve the problem of houses without documents," the parliamentarian stated.
