In Azerbaijan, schoolchildren have been found who cannot read and write
The State Examination Center has identified cases of complete illiteracy among students in general education schools of Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this is stated in the 12th issue of the "Applicant" magazine, which presents statistical data on the results of entrance and graduation exams for the 2024-2025 academic year.
According to the SEC, the exam results showed that some students have not mastered the minimum school curriculum, and five 9th grade students cannot read or write at all – one each in Barda, Aghjabadi, Saatly, Lankaran, and Shabran.
"However, considering the fact that most exam supervisors did not note such cases in the protocols, it can be assumed that the actual number of illiterate schoolchildren is significantly higher," the SEC noted.
