In Azerbaijan, a 13-year-old mother was returned to her parents

In Agdzhebedi district, the parents of G.M. (born in 2010) were invited to the police department, where they had a preventive conversation.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in response to Oxu.Az's inquiry to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). The girl was placed in the care of her parents.

Recall that news spread about a 13-year-old district resident becoming pregnant by a 23-year-old young man. According to information, with the consent of both parties, an official marriage was to take place when the teenager reaches 18 years of age. At the engagement, it was discovered that the young bride was pregnant, and then the families organized a wedding celebration at home among close relatives. When the girl went to the hospital for an examination, doctors reported this to the police. Until then, the families had tried to keep the incident secret.

A criminal case was initiated on this fact. During the judicial investigation, the couple had a child.

The 13-year-old girl, recognized as a victim, and her family did not file a complaint. The birth of the child was taken into account as a mitigating circumstance.

The court sentenced Shahriyar (name is conditional) to a suspended sentence. The young man who was under arrest has been released and placed under police supervision.
