In Azerbaijan, 3,800 people have disabilities related to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident

In Azerbaijan, there are 3,800 people with disabilities related to the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.
This was reported by BAKU.WS with reference to data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
Of these, more than 2,000 people received disability status in connection with military service at the station, about 1,800 - during the liquidation of the consequences of the disaster.
The department notes that these citizens are provided with housing and transportation, disability pensions ranging from 150 to 270 manats, presidential allowances ranging from 200 to 500 manats depending on the degree of disability. The state also pays one-time treatment allowances and provides support to children of participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the nuclear power plant accident.
