Drug couriers with 7 kg of drugs detained in Baku
Drug couriers attempting to deliver a large batch of narcotics to the capital have been detained.
BAKU.WS was informed about this by the Lankaran regional group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) press service. It is noted that as a result of operations conducted by the Yardimli district police department for combating drug trafficking, 49-year-old Yalchin Mammadov and 46-year-old Rasim Nuriyev were detained. 7 kilograms of marijuana and 949 methadone tablets were found in their possession.
During the investigation, it was established that Y.Mammadov and R.Nuriyev acquired the drugs from an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being determined, and agreed to deliver them to specified addresses in Baku city for financial compensation.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact, and an investigation is underway.
