Deadly trio: which diseases most often kill residents of Baku?

The main causes of mortality among residents of Baku have been revealed.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to modern.az, neoplasms (cancer tumors) rank first among the causes of death.

The second place among the causes of mortality belongs to diseases of the circulatory system (cardiovascular).

The top "three" also includes diseases of the nervous system.

Overall, the main diseases leading to the death of the capital's residents are distributed as follows:

1. Neoplasms (cancer tumors)

2. Diseases of the circulatory system (cardiovascular)

3. Diseases of the nervous system

4. Injuries, poisonings, and effects of external causes

5. Diseases of the digestive system

6. Diseases of the respiratory system

7. Certain infectious and parasitic diseases

8. Certain conditions originating in the perinatal period

9. Diseases of the genitourinary system

10. Symptoms, signs, and abnormalities found during clinical and laboratory examinations

According to the State Statistics Committee, 14,172 deaths were registered in the country in January-March 2025. According to official statistics, about 15 thousand deaths occur in Baku during the year.
