AYNA representative made a statement about "Manat taxis"

The transport service called "manat taxi" is not provided for by legislation, and in most cases this activity is carried out illegally.
As reported by Oxu.Az, this was stated by the head of the communication department of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Veli Mamedov, at the panel session "Sustainable solutions in transport infrastructure in the media plane," held within the framework of the second forum on "Public processes in the media plane".
Commenting on the topic, the head of the department for road safety propaganda and relations with public institutions of the Main Directorate of the State Road Police, Police Lieutenant Colonel Rovshan Tagiyev, noted that the fight against this problem is difficult.
"The road police cannot control one point continuously throughout the day. As soon as police officers leave the area, illegal taxis immediately return. Although the tightening of fines has had some effect, the problem has not completely disappeared. Drivers must show responsibility.
If you look at the archives of some of them, you can see that most of their earnings are spent on paying fines, but they themselves do not abandon this practice. We hold educational meetings with them and work to stop this activity," he said.
