ATTENTION to Baku metro users - an important decision has been made

As part of a large-scale project scheduled for implementation by 2030, a turnaround loop equipped with modern equipment will be built behind the "Icheri Sheher" metro station. This will reduce train intervals on both the "purple" and "green" metro lines.
Bakhtiyar Mammadov, press secretary of Baku Metro CJSC, told Oxu.Az about this when speaking about expected innovations in the capital's underground.
According to him, if the current minimum interval is four minutes, in the future this figure will decrease to one minute on the "purple" line and to two and a half minutes on the "green" line.

"After the complete update of the system and infrastructure, an even greater reduction in intervals is possible," noted B. Mammadov.
The metro representative also reported that a new electric depot will be built in the Darnagyul area to separate the lines.
"This is one of the most important projects in terms of more efficient organization of the metro operation. After the depot is put into operation, the construction of tunnels will begin," he emphasized.
Before this stage, two new electrical substations will be built near the "Nizami" and "Jafar Jabbarli" stations. In parallel, optimization of the existing energy infrastructure is planned, the press secretary noted," concluded Bakhtiyar Mammadov.
