On April 13, with the participation of the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva, a landscaped courtyard covering multi-story buildings in the Yeni Yasamal residential area of Baku was handed over for use by residents. A total of over 1,400 people live in these buildings.

As reported by BAKU.WS, as part of the event, Leyla Aliyeva, together with IDEA volunteers, participated in a tree planting campaign. Young residents were presented with gifts.

In the newly reconstructed courtyard, as in other areas landscaped under the "Our Yard" project, the factor of convenient movement for people with disabilities was taken into account, favorable conditions were created for the development of children of all age groups, and to effectively organize leisure activities for young people and increase their interest in sports, the territory includes a football field with artificial turf, a chess area, various sports facilities, and a children's playground. There are also gazebos, numerous benches, birdhouses, and cat houses in the courtyard. In addition, new lighting poles and surveillance cameras have been installed, building facades and blocks have been completely repaired, and asphalt, roofing, and power lines have been updated.

Along with the restoration of existing greenery in the courtyard, 170 different types of trees, more than 3,100 seasonal flowers and shrubs were planted, and green areas were formed. To prevent air pollution around the courtyards, green fences were created by planting stone ivy and other climbing plants.

The "Our Yard" project has been implemented since 2017 on the initiative of the founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva. The main goal of the project is environmental cleanliness and improvement of courtyards in the capital, restoration of green spaces, creating opportunities for meaningful leisure, as well as safe and comfortable conditions for residents. To date, 157 residential courtyards have been landscaped under the project and handed over for use by residents.

It should be noted that IDEA encourages residents to contact the public union with proposals and applications for the improvement and reconstruction of courtyards. Please send applications to the IDEA Public Union hotline "1113" or to the email address ([email protected]).
