24 kg of drugs seized in Baku during special operation

Employees of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue their uninterrupted work to suppress illegal drug trafficking.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the portal BAKU.WS, during another operation in the Binagadi district, two more members of the drug network were detained – 47-year-old Elnur Hajiyev and 29-year-old Akbar Kerimov. In their car and hiding place, 24 kilograms of marijuana were found, which contained added harmful substances.

Hajiyev and Kerimov confessed to having criminal connections with an Iranian citizen whose identity is being established by the investigation. The detainees planned to collect drugs from the territories of Yardymli and Binagadi districts and organize their sale for financial gain.

A criminal case has been initiated, and by court decision, both individuals have been remanded in custody as a preventive measure. Operational activities continue.
