From June 14 to the present, about 900 Russian citizens have been evacuated from Iran through Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkmenistan.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, this was announced at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

The official representative of Russia's foreign policy department expressed special gratitude to Iran's neighboring countries, particularly Azerbaijan, for creating favorable conditions that allowed Russian citizens to promptly leave the territories of Iran and Israel during the period of sharp escalation of regional tensions. "Russia is grateful to the authorities of Iran, Israel, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Turkmenistan for their assistance. The priority, of course, is to assist the safe departure of our citizens, and the relevant work continues," she stated.

It should be noted that after Israel began missile strikes on Iran, the majority of Russian citizens in that country were evacuated through the "Astara" checkpoint on the border between Iran and Azerbaijan.

According to Zakharova, amid growing tensions in the Middle East, "the relevant departments of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies, embassies, air carriers, and companies continue coordinated work to ensure the evacuation of Russians from dangerous areas."

"In total, since June 14, the departure of more than a thousand people has been organized - family members of Russian foreign mission employees, delegations, creative groups, our tourists, and compatriots," Zakharova indicated.

The diplomat also specified that "about nine hundred people were evacuated from Iran, 85 people left Iraq, and assistance was provided to more than 130 Russians in leaving Israel through the checkpoints of Egypt and Jordan, including families with seriously ill children."
