Will Misir Mardanov be appointed to the position previously held by Ramiz Mehdiyev's wife?

In recent days, discussions about former Minister of Education Misir Mardanov have not subsided. According to circulating rumors, M. Mardanov will replace Ramiz Mehtiev's wife Galina Mehtieva as the head of the Computational Mathematics Department at Baku State University (BSU).

Interestingly, the university's official website indicates that another person heads the Computational Mathematics Department, and Galina Mehtieva's name cannot be found.

As BAKU.WS reports, an Oxu.Az employee contacted Misir Mardanov to clarify the situation.

"They take one of my statements and interpret it differently. I don't want to say anything, even if you write it correctly, others will take it and change it. I live peacefully. I don't know what they're saying. I continue my work. I work where I want," said M. Mardanov.

In response to Oxu.Az's inquiry, the BSU press service stated that the claims are completely false, and no such appointment is expected.

"Since 2022, Professor Vagif Ibrahimov has held the position of head of the Department of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling.

Professor M. Mardanov has been working for a long time as the head of the Department of Higher Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching Methods," the information states.
