UNESCO highly valued the words of the President of Azerbaijan on post-conflict recovery

The words of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev about the impossibility of development without protecting cultural heritage and the environment hold special significance for post-conflict urban recovery.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre Lazare Eloundou Assomo in a video address at WUF13 in Baku.

"The idea voiced by Ilham Aliyev at the WUF13 leaders' summit that development is impossible without the preservation of cultural heritage and the environment is of great importance for post-conflict recovery," he said.

The UNESCO representative emphasized that the panel served as an important platform not only for studying Azerbaijan's experience but also for discussing support for cities affected by conflicts.
