President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated the peace agreement signed in Washington between Azerbaijan and Armenia, emphasizing the role of US mediation and Kazakhstan's contribution.
This was reported by the press secretary of the head of state Ruslan Zheldibay in his Telegram channel.
"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev considers the peace agreement signed in Washington between Azerbaijan and Armenia a historically important achievement.
The document put an end to the long-term military conflict between the two states and opened the way for establishing diplomatic relations and developing cooperation between them based on lasting peace.
According to the head of state, the signing of the unique agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia became possible thanks to the energetic and effective mediation mission of US President Donald Trump.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev notes that Kazakhstan also made its own contribution to achieving such important agreements between Azerbaijan and Armenia, offering Almaty as a venue for negotiations at the level of foreign ministers on key parameters of the peace treaty.
