The United States opposed inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the NATO summit, which will be held on June 24-25 in The Hague.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Italian agency ANSA, citing diplomatic sources.

"The United States opposes sending an invitation to Ukrainian President Zelensky to the NATO summit in The Hague," the agency's sources noted.

According to ANSA, to date, only four Asian NATO partners have received invitations to the summit: Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. At the same time, almost all allies expressed doubts about Washington's position.

It was previously reported that the summit agenda will focus on issues of increasing military spending and boosting arms production. Ukraine's membership in the alliance will not be discussed. There are also no plans to raise the issue of extending last year's promise to provide Kyiv with aid worth 40 billion dollars.
