The true face of Iran: what is the goal of those who repay Azerbaijan's good with evil?

During the program Aktual Gündəm ("Current Agenda") on Baku TV, Member of the Milli Majlis Hikmet Babaoghlu spoke about Iran's policy towards Azerbaijan.

"We have always supported Iran's territorial integrity and never joined sanctions against it. Moreover, we did not allow any threat to emanate from our territory against Iran. However, Tehran's attitude towards Azerbaijan has never been positive. They supported the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia, cooperated with the armed formations of Hashd al-Shaabi operating against Turkey. Tehran also supported the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and was involved in the killings of Turkmen in Bayirbucak," the parliamentarian noted.

H. Babaoghlu sharply criticized Tehran's policy towards Baku, pointing out that the Iranian side also obstructed the opening of the Zangezur corridor.

"Iran did not agree with the opening of the Zangezur corridor, stating that 'this is my red line.' This fact shows Tehran's hypocrisy," he emphasized.

The deputy also touched upon Iran's policy towards Azerbaijani Turks living on its territory. According to H. Babaoghlu, Tehran's goal is to create enmity between Azerbaijan and the Turks in Iran.
