Azerbaijan faced a new wave of disinformation campaigns - one of the most common types of hybrid threats.

This is stated in the declaration of the Milli Mejlis Commission against foreign interference and hybrid threats.

According to the information, monitoring analysis showed that such campaigns against Azerbaijan are organized on social media platforms by groups operating in neighboring states and serving various circles and interests: "Despite Azerbaijan's official position on ongoing processes, voiced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials, distorted and false information is spread on platforms such as Telegram, Facebook, X, TikTok and YouTube. The purpose of these actions is to mislead the parties to the conflict, as well as the international community, to damage our country's growing influence and disrupt its relations with friendly and brotherly countries".

The statement also noted that among those supporting these campaigns there are also persons of Azerbaijani origin and citizens of Azerbaijan. "The Temporary Commission against Foreign Interference and Hybrid Threats, together with relevant state bodies, closely monitors these actions against our state and takes appropriate measures," the statement says.

The Commission calls on all stakeholders, including citizens of Azerbaijan, to believe only official data and to fight disinformation.
