Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations Ramin Mamedov visited the Church of Archangel Michael in Baku on November 24. During the visit, the committee chairman familiarized himself with the organization's activities and spiritual-religious events held here.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the committee's press service, during the meeting, the chairman spoke about the significance of state policy implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in strengthening traditions of tolerance in the country.

Ramin Mamedov emphasized that work on preserving religious traditions of representatives of various confessions serves the development of a multicultural environment. He also noted the importance of regularly implemented projects in this area, support for religious communities' activities, restoration of places of worship, and strengthening their material and technical base. The head of the committee reported that based on instructions and initiatives of the head of state, comprehensive measures are being implemented aimed at expanding intercultural dialogue and promoting religious diversity as a common value of society.

Bishop of Baku and Azerbaijan Alexiy noted that the exemplary model of state-religious relations makes a significant contribution to strengthening stability, an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust in the country. He expressed gratitude for the conditions created in the church, for the opportunity to freely perform religious rites and for the attention to the community's activities.

During the visit, the complete reconstruction and restoration of the church complex was assessed as a vivid example of the special importance that the state attaches to the preservation of religious and spiritual heritage.
