The Azerbaijani army is recognized as the second strongest among CIS countries

In the latest study by the international analytical center Global Firepower, Azerbaijan's army ranked second among the armed forces of CIS countries, second only to Russia.

According to the results of the 2025 ranking, Azerbaijan's armed forces confirmed their leadership in the South Caucasus region, significantly outpacing neighboring Armenia and Georgia. In the global ranking of world armies, Azerbaijan took a confident 29th place, strengthening its position thanks to the active development of defense capabilities, modernization of military equipment, and high combat readiness of personnel.

Experts note that an important factor in strengthening Azerbaijan's army is the continuous improvement of infrastructure, widespread use of modern technologies, and international military cooperation with countries such as Turkey and Israel.
