Sergey Lavrov spoke about France and Britain's plan for Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the initiative of France and the United Kingdom regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are proposing to suspend military operations for at least a month. This temporary ceasefire, according to their plan, should extend to air and maritime spaces, as well as energy infrastructure.
As Lavrov notes, the main goal of the initiative is to create conditions for the deployment of Western troops in the region during the proposed peace process. Meanwhile, alongside the deployment of contingents, negotiations are being held to agree on the terms of conflict resolution.
The Minister emphasized that the announced pause in providing intelligence information to Ukraine confirms the fact that Russia has repeatedly pointed out. According to him, without the direct participation of Western countries, particularly the United States, Britain, France, and Germany, Ukraine would not have been able to strike Russian territory using long-range missiles. Lavrov considers this an acknowledgment of Western involvement in the conflict.
According to the head of the Russian foreign ministry, such an initiative only proves that Western countries continue to interfere in the situation, pursuing their strategic interests. Moscow is skeptical about such proposals, viewing them as a way to strengthen Ukraine's position with NATO support.
Meanwhile, the situation at the front remains tense, and diplomatic efforts to find a peaceful solution continue.
