Sahiba Gafarova met with the chairman of the Consultative Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain

Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova met with the Chairman of the Consultative Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh on January 25 during an official visit to Bahrain.

As reported by BAKU.WS, warmly welcoming the speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh expressed confidence that this visit would contribute to further deepening relations between our countries and parliaments. He noted his country's interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of further developing inter-parliamentary ties in this context.

S. Gafarova thanked for the high level of hospitality and noted that the first official visit of the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament to the Kingdom of Bahrain would create opportunities to discuss issues related to further deepening bilateral relations.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that our peoples share common religious and cultural values that unite the friendly countries. The parties noted the great potential for developing bilateral relations in all areas, expressing confidence that political contacts and mutual visits between the two states in various fields would give impetus to the development of ties.

The meeting also emphasized that our countries successfully cooperate within various international and regional organizations such as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement. The parties expressed satisfaction with mutual support within these organizations.

The issues of cooperation between legislative bodies were discussed during the meeting. It was noted that effective cooperation relations have been established between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Bahrain. Mutual visits at the level of the chairmen of parliaments of both countries have contributed to further deepening these ties.

S. Gafarova recalled with satisfaction her previous meetings with the Chairman of the Consultative Council, as well as Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh's participation in the Parliamentary Network conference of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Manama. It was emphasized that the Bahraini parliament is represented at all conferences and parliamentary events of this important parliamentary platform, including its governing bodies.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
