Russia's Foreign Ministry disagreed with the position of journalists declared wanted by Baku
The statements of Russian journalists, who have been placed on the wanted list by the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan on charges of calling for the violent overthrow of the republic's constitutional order, do not reflect Moscow's position regarding Baku.
This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.
According to her, the opinions of these private individuals have nothing in common with Russia's state policy.
"We believe that Russian-Azerbaijani ties should develop on the basis of the existing bilateral legal and contractual framework, primarily the Declaration on Allied Cooperation signed at the highest level in Moscow on February 22, 2022," the statement published on the website of the foreign ministry reads.
