Russian media cover the signing of a joint peace declaration at the White House

Russian media widely cover the visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to the USA, their meeting with US President Donald Trump and the signing of a joint peace declaration at the White House.

As AZERTADJ reports, TASS informs that the parties committed to permanently cease hostilities, establish trade, travel and diplomatic relations, as well as respect each other's sovereignty. During the meeting, the text of a peace treaty was initialed and a roadmap was approved, including the creation of a transport corridor between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through the territory of Armenia, as well as an appeal to the OSCE with a proposal to dissolve the Minsk Group. Donald Trump announced the lifting of restrictions on military cooperation with Azerbaijan and the signing of bilateral economic agreements with both countries. Aliyev and Pashinyan expressed their willingness to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Interfax" quotes the President of Azerbaijan saying that the official signing of the peace treaty should not be delayed, and calls August 8 a historic day in interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of maintaining strategic partnership with the United States and announced the formation of an Azerbaijani delegation to discuss the charter of cooperation.

"Kommersant" reports that the Zangezur corridor in Armenia has been transferred to the United States for 99 years and has been named "Trump Route for Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP). According to Donald Trump, this is a transit zone that will provide Azerbaijan with access to Nakhchivan while preserving Armenia's sovereignty.

"Lenta.ru" quotes the American president, who noted that Armenia is creating an exclusive partnership with the United States for the development of this corridor, for a period of up to 99 years with the possibility of extension.

"Vestnik Kavkaza" writes that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia have documented their intention to settle relations peacefully. The Joint Declaration records the rejection of armed clashes, unblocking of transport communications, establishment of diplomatic relations and mutual respect for territorial integrity.

"Vechernyaya Moskva" emphasizes that the signed documents mark the achievement of peace, and Trump called this event historic.

"Vesti.ru" informs that the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia have appealed to the OSCE with a request to dissolve the Minsk Group.
