Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan viewed the destroyed areas of the city of Fuzuli

On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov toured the destroyed areas of the city of Fuzuli.

As reported by AZERTAG, Special Representative of the President in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts Emin Huseynov informed the President of Turkmenistan about the destruction and acts of vandalism committed by the armed forces of Armenia in the territory of the Fuzuli district during the 30-year period of occupation, as well as about the ongoing and planned work in accordance with the master plan of the city.

It was noted that the once densely populated and developing city of Fuzuli was completely looted and destroyed during the Armenian occupation. After liberation from occupation, the master plan of the city was prepared in a short time and approved by the head of our state. Fuzuli, located at the intersection of the main transport arteries of the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions, has significant transport and logistics potential. According to the master plan of the city of Fuzuli, the total area of which is approximately 2 thousand hectares, it is planned to accommodate 50,000 residents by 2040. The "Smart City" concept will be applied in Fuzuli, which is being reconstructed in accordance with modern urban planning standards.

The distinguished guest was also provided with information about the mosque being built by Turkmenistan in Fuzuli.

The foundation of this mosque was laid in an online format by President Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and other heads of state and government who participated in the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, held in October last year in Gabala.

The total area of the mosque complex will be more than 1 hectare. Two minarets, each 40 meters high, will be erected. The height of the main dome will be 30 meters. The mosque will be able to accommodate 500 worshippers simultaneously.
