On July 14, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini, who is on an official visit to our country, reviewed the work being carried out in the village of Bash Garvand in the Aghdam district and laid the foundation of the Milan Rastislav Štefánik full secondary school designed for 840 students in this village.

As reported by BAKU.WS, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts Emin Huseynov briefed the presidents of Azerbaijan and Slovakia on the work being carried out in the village of Bash Garvand in the Aghdam district.

The village of Bash Garvand is located on the right side of the Barda–Aghdam highway and the Barda–Aghdam railway line, 18 kilometers from the center of the city of Aghdam. The village, which had been under Armenian occupation for many years, was liberated on November 20, 2020.

President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the village on December 24, 2023.

Currently, the necessary social infrastructure, administrative and service buildings are being established in the village. A multifunctional administrative building, a medical station, a full secondary school, and kindergartens will operate here.

Roads with a total length of 35 kilometers are being laid in the village, and a communication system, electricity supply, gas supply, water supply, and sewage networks are being established. In order to save energy supply, alternative energy sources will be used in the village of Bash Garvand.

The presidents of Azerbaijan and Slovakia were also briefed on the Milan Rastislav Štefánik full secondary school in the village of Bash Garvand, designed for 840 students.

It was reported that the school's territory covers 3 hectares. The building will have 35 classrooms, technology rooms, military training rooms, computer labs, a library, and physics, biology, and chemistry laboratories.

An assembly hall, a sports hall, a cafeteria, and other necessary educational infrastructure will also be created.

Solar panels are planned to be installed to provide the building with electricity.

On the school grounds, a large sports area with a running track, play zones, and recreational areas will be created for both students and residents, and green zones will be laid out.

The presidents of Azerbaijan and Slovakia laid the foundation of the school.

Slovak companies are participating in the construction of the village of Bash Garvand. The school to be built in the village is being donated by Slovakia to Azerbaijan.

The heads of state then reviewed the conditions created in a house built in the village.

It was noted that the construction of the village with a total area of about 480 hectares will be carried out in 2 stages. The first stage covers an area of more than 200 hectares. At this stage, 851 private houses will be built to accommodate 3,703 people. Of these, 170 houses are two-room, 417 are three-room, 145 are four-room, and 119 are five-room.
