President of Azerbaijan received Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus
On May 19, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the head of state noted that Belarus is represented at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) by a high-level delegation.
Expressing satisfaction with the development of Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations based on close friendship, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that active cooperation is being carried out in all areas. In this context, the importance of the inter-parliamentary format was noted. Touching upon cooperation between the two countries in the economic sphere, the head of state noted the successful implementation of joint projects.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Igor Sergeyenko conveyed to the head of state the greetings of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Alexander Lukashenko as well.
The guest said that personal contacts between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Belarus contribute to the development of cooperation between the agencies of the two countries.
Noting that he had participated in the opening of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, Igor Sergeyenko emphasized that discussions on important areas of urban development are being held at the event. He noted that Azerbaijan possesses rich experience in hosting prestigious international events, as evidenced by the high level of organization of WUF13.
During the conversation, prospects for the development of relations in various spheres were discussed, and an exchange of views on expanding cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries took place.
