Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Digital Development discussed cooperation in cybersecurity

A meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, work in the areas of digitalization, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and innovation was discussed, as well as prospects for developing cooperation between the two agencies in these areas.

The parties particularly emphasized the importance of accelerating the digital transformation process in the country, expanding cooperation between government agencies in the field of information security and cybersecurity, and training professional personnel.

It was noted that the activities carried out in this direction serve to fulfill the tasks defined within the framework of the state policy conducted under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, including within the implementation of the "Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development for 2026-2028."

It was reported that in June of this year, at a meeting of the Digital Development Council chaired by the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, the work carried out within the implementation of the Action Plan, the results achieved, and priority tasks for the upcoming period were also discussed in detail. In this regard, strengthening institutional cooperation of government agencies in the field of cybersecurity and developing human capital are of particular importance.

At the meeting, it was noted that the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, operating under the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, regularly organizes professional courses and training sessions for employees of the Ministry of Defense, covering issues of information security and cybersecurity. It was particularly emphasized that the implementation of these activities makes a significant contribution to enhancing the professionalism of military personnel in the field of information security and cybersecurity, improving their knowledge and skills in countering modern cyber threats, and further strengthening cooperation between government agencies.
