The newly appointed Ambassador of Israel to Azerbaijan Ronen Kraus will continue the course of his predecessor George Deek on developing Israeli-Azerbaijani relations.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Report, this is stated in an article by the American publication Newsblaze.

The publication notes that George Deek, who headed the diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan for the past four years, gained wide sympathy from the Azerbaijani people and worked with great success on strengthening bilateral partnership.

Ronen Kraus, who previously held the position of Director of the Eurasian Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, has been appointed as the new ambassador.

"It is an honor and privilege for me to be officially appointed as the next Ambassador of Israel to the Republic of Azerbaijan," Kraus wrote on social media immediately after his appointment.

"Kraus inherits from his predecessor the important task of continuing the course on developing Israeli-Azerbaijani relations. As part of the preparation for his mission, he has already held a round table with leaders of the Azerbaijani diaspora and community at the Azerbaijan House in Israel," writes Newsblaze.

The article also notes that Azerbaijan has been a safe home for Jews for centuries. "Therefore, it is not surprising that the Azerbaijani community in Israel remains attached to their Homeland and works diligently to maintain three decades of remarkable bilateral relations between Israel and Azerbaijan," the article states.
