Masud Pezeshkian congratulated Ilham Aliyev

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

"Your Excellency.

I cordially congratulate Your Excellency and the people of your country on the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The shared history of our friendly and neighboring peoples, the inseparable bonds between them have become a valuable contribution to the development of relations between our countries.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to expand and elevate relations to the level of strategic partnership in our common interests, emphasizing in this context the importance of accelerating the implementation of joint projects in various areas related to transport, electricity, natural gas, increasing trade volumes, and simplifying people-to-people contacts.

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in opening communication routes with respect for the territorial integrity of countries, which can play an important role in establishing lasting peace and security in the region.
