Leyla Aliyeva familiarized herself with the works being carried out in the Muhammed Fizuli Park in the city of Sheki

On June 30, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited the Sheki city park of culture and recreation named after Muhammad Fuzuli.

As reported by BAKU.WS, she was informed here about the restoration and reconstruction works to be carried out on the territory.

It is reported that a number of major restoration and reconstruction works are planned for the park, which was established in 1951.

It is noted that a "Summer Theater" also once operated on the park's territory, which was the most beloved recreation spot for residents and guests of the city, where musical and theatrical groups, as well as prominent figures of culture and art, periodically performed. It was brought to attention that in the "Summer Theater," designed for 1,800 spectators, performances were held in 1975-1980 by the outstanding Azerbaijani pop and opera singer Rashid Behbudov, People's Artist Zeynab Khanlarova, and the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor and composer Niyazi, and in 1981, theatrical performances were staged with the participation of Nasiba Zeynalova and Hajibaba Bagirov. Also, in 1982-1995, concerts of renowned khanende and singers were held here, including Alibaba Mammadov, Mahabbat Kazimov, Mamadbagir Bagirzade, Malakkhanum Ayyubova, Nisa Gasimova, Sahavat Mammadov, Zaur Rzayev, and others.

As part of the renovation works carried out on the park's territory, the bust of the brilliant Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fuzuli was removed from the park, restored, and reinstalled at this recreation site.

It is noted that during the restoration works, the main goal is to restore the frescoes, works of local sculptors, the theater, and to bring audiences back here once again, transforming the park into a place for family recreation.
