Important statements by Devlet Bahçeli on Turkey-Azerbaijan relations
Turkey and Azerbaijan are two powerful states belonging to a single spiritual geography.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Haber Global, this was stated by the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahçeli.
"The relations within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) are based on the principle of respect for the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and domestic legislation of each member state," the leader of the political organization stated.
The party leader noted that the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan stand apart from political processes and are rooted in the shared historical memory and spiritual bonds of the two peoples:
"In the face of any attempts to damage the fraternal ties between the two countries, restraint and mutual understanding are of utmost importance. Turkey's assumption of the OTS chairmanship is also an important responsibility and opportunity driven by these processes. The relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan is one of the strongest pillars of this process.
The historical, cultural, and fraternal bonds between the two states stand above political conjuncture and are based on the shared memory and spiritual closeness of our peoples.
In this regard, we believe that the meeting of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief who achieved victory in Karabakh, with the leader of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the summit will once again demonstrate the unwavering will to preserve Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood.
During its chairmanship of the OTS, Turkey will continue to contribute to achieving the goals of unity, solidarity, and development of the Turkic world, drawing on its historical heritage, state experience, and vision for the future."
