Ilham Aliyev met in New York with the Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Asset Management

On September 22, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met in New York with Bruce Flatt, the Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Asset Management, one of the world's largest alternative investment management companies.

As reported by AZERTAG, Bruce Flatt noted that he was deeply impressed by the economic achievements and development processes that he observed in Azerbaijan during his visit to our country in 2023. He emphasized that the successful cooperation between his company and the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan is gradually expanding.

Bruce Flatt congratulated on the results achieved in Washington regarding the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting that this creates a good opportunity for deepening economic cooperation in the region as well.

Expressing satisfaction with the successful development of relations between our country and Brookfield Asset Management, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that this creates broad opportunities for long-term strategic development of cooperation.

During the conversation, views were exchanged on Azerbaijan's capabilities in the field of renewable energy and the prospects of our country becoming a regional energy center.
